I’m an outdoor photographer based in Scotland and I enjoy combining my photography with various trips to inspiring destinations in Scotland and the north of England.

I favour working at night and in low light conditions, which means that I’m often up and about from dusk through ‘til dawn. I like to create images where there is a touch of natural light at work in an otherwise fairly dark scene. This means that I shoot a lot of nightscape scenes and landscape astrophotography, but I also like to shoot during the blue hour and at sunrise and sunset.

During the remainder of the day I’ll usually try to rest up, potter about and play with the dogs. One day I’ll try my hand at some videography and some vlogging - it’s been a long-standing aspiration and I want to learn something new in my 50s. I always take my dogs Jasper and Mitchell with me. They’re great company but still full of energy - I just wish they’d follow in my footsteps rather than the other way around! They’ll make far more watchable subjects than myself, so the channel will be called Collies, Camera, Action.
